Background
GSIS runs both an English stream and a German stream, and multilingualism is a core value of the school. Students in the English stream complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma, while those in the German stream study for the German International Abitur. GSIS is the only school in Hong Kong certified to offer the German International Abitur. German state education authorities recognise this qualification.
Extracurricular activities are a valued part of education at GSIS. Options include art, drama, music and debate, and Secondary students can also take part in the Model United Nations.
In addition to the kindergarten, primary and secondary facilities, GSIS also has a German-language business college. The college follows Germany's dual vocational education model. It combines classroom study with work placements to prepare young people for careers such as international trade and logistics.
